Redskins vs Dallas

Well, my team played yesterday and they played their hearts out!!!! I have been a Redskins fan since I was 5 and knew little about football, but I did know that I was going to be a Redskin fan for life!!! I grew up with a Redskin family, but of course like any other family we had Dallas fans. This made the rivalry even more exciting and interesting!!!! As a little girl (7 to be exact), I remember meeting Doug Williams and understanding what the Super Bowl meant to a city and to the fans. In my tenth grade year, I began to watch football every season and really learn what the game is all about. I learned everything from the penalties to some of the plays that were being called. I love football and I enjoy watching it every season!!!! I can admit that watching the Redskins play over the years have been pretty nerve racking, but that comes with the territory of watching any team or your team play.

Yes we did beat Dallas yesterday. Does this mean we are going to the Super Bowl? No. We are just looking ahead to see who we will play next Sunday. I just hope that we can play with the same type of intensity in the following games. I have confidence in my team and I will continue to support them no matter what. With that being said...........................

GO SKINS!!!!

Season Opener!!!

Well, the NFL season is upon us!!! I'm soooo excited that it's really about to start!!! My team plays' on Thursday. Go Skins!!!!

I am also ecstatic that preseason is over. Can someone please tell me the purpose of pre-season? I know it's a chance for the rookies to show their skills however, I know most coaches put their starters in as well. I think this can be a really tricky move on the coaches part to put their starter's in, as many players can get hurt. Look at Osi Umenyiora and David Tyree. Also, Shawn Merriman is going to play hurt which can be a very dangerous move on his part. I believe Jason Taylor will not be playing on Thursday which will be very disappointing however, i'm just happy it's not a season ending injury.

I understand the starter's not wanting to play in pre-season because of the chance of getting hurt. The NFL should shorten the pre-season for this reason. There are a lot of opinions about this issue, negative and positive. I know you really can't control when a player gets hurt, whether it's practice, pre-season, or regular season but, I do believe chances are higher during pre-season, just because everyone is fighting to be 1 of the 53 players.

As I finish my first blog ever, I would like to say good luck to every NFL fan in America!!!! May the best team win!!!
